Voices from the boat park after friday’s races
Fflur Pierce from North Wales
I did OK and am pretty happy. I like sailing in medium to heavy wind so I wished the breeze would have been a bit stronger. I am also playing hockey and do climbing but sailing is probably my favorite as I like being on the water.
Roux Christopher Le Roux sailing for Zululand Yacht Club in South Africa
I had some good and some bad results but in the last race I finished 6. It’s always nice to finish on a high. We have had a good time here in Sweden. We spend a few days before racing in Gothenburg and after this we are going to check out Stockholm for a couple of days. We have a lot of “unofficial” kings in South Africa but no official one like in Sweden so I hope we see him in Stockholm.
Next year I will be sailing the Worlds in South Africa. I am pretty sure it will be stronger breeze then. The best way for everyone to prepare is probably to put on a bit of weight and be fit, says Roux but with a bit of reservation: You neven know in sailing. Maybe if will be light as everyone expect the opposite.
Leo Rivers from the British island Guerney
I started sailing Tera this May so I have actually sailed more here in Ljnugskile than at home. We sail on the North Sea so sometimes we can have waves.
This wednesday we went to the “Universeum” in Gothenburg. It is partly a zoo and party a museum. I really liked their aquarium where they even had some sharks.
All this was a lot of fun and next year I might do the Europeans in Germany and I might go to the Worlds in South Africa. We’ll see, says Leo in his final comment.
